The Club Picnic Outing
The 2014 annual club picnic will be June 21, 2014 in Season Good Park located at Dana Avenue
and Reading Road.   We will fellowship with the Avondale Indians youth Knot Hole baseball teams,
coaches and parents. As is our custom, a run/walk  will begin at 10:00 AM to work up a good
appetite.  Picnic fare will be provided by the Avondale Indians. Trophies and awards for the youth
teams will be provided by the Avondale Running Club.  Friends and volunteers who work the Flying
Pig Marathon fluid station with us are cordially invited  for a great time.

National Black Marathoner's Annual Event
ARC is a proud member of the National Black Marathoner's Association. We've had great experiences
and look forward to the 2014 event.  Check the NBMA site for details and register to join the fun.

Flying Pig Marathon Fluid Station
ARC is a reliable and enthusiastic volunteer for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon.  We staff two
stations near WCPO - TV channel 9.  The club continues to refine our efforts.  We received first place
award for enthusiasm in 2006 and 2008, with a second place awards in 2007, 2009, 2011, third place
in 2010 and mention in 2013.   We eagerly await the 2014 Pig!  Kudos to all our members, volunteers,
DJ Bob Humphries, and Withrow High School marching Band who make it happen!
If you want to volunteer to join our great fluid station crew in 2014 send us a
note  and we'll sign you
up.

Community Support
The Club joined Harmony Gardens to sponsor 23 ladies participation in the 2009 Fleet feet Lady
Distance Classic.  The
AYC girls won 1st place in the club division.  The club also organized and
lead a
5K fitness walk to kick off the annual Avondale Community Festival and Health Fair.  The club
supports State Senator Eric Kearney in his annual walk from Cincinnati to Columbus to highlight
children's health.  We supported YMCA of Greater Cincinnati Youth Achiever scholarship fund.

ACDC (Avondale Comprehensive Development Corp.) whose business is the renaissance of
Avondale. The event will take place on Sunday morning October 19, 2014.

Walkers
You can walk a selected route in the Avondale neighborhood.  Check the club calendar and come
join us for a brisk 45 to 50 minute walk.  During inclement weather the walkers head for one of the
local malls for
Mall Walking.

Runners
The CLUB runners gather every Sunday morning at a different location.  See the club calendar for
locations in Eden Park Overlook,
Glenwood Gardens, Lunken Airport, Mt. Airy Forest, Sharon Woods
